Tarpaulin manufacturer — any size, any material, made to order

Most tarpaulin suppliers cut standard sheets from bought-in rolls. We weave, coat and stitch our own fabric — so the size, the weight, the finish and the eyelets are all yours to specify, not ours to compromise on.

Built & tested to: Any Size · Any Weight · Any Finish CPAI-84 · SGS Tested ISO 14001 Scope Includes Tarpaulins ISO 9001 / 45001 REACH (UK)
Why It Matters

A tarpaulin is only as good as the cloth it's cut from

Anyone can hem a sheet and punch eyelets in it. The things that decide whether a tarpaulin lasts a season or five — the yarn, the weave density, the coating, the treatment — are decided at the loom, long before anyone cuts it to size. That part happens in our factory, which is why we can change it for you.

Why Canvas

  • It breathes. Condensation forms under sealed plastic and rots what's beneath it. Canvas doesn't trap it — which is why it stays the right answer for machinery, timber, hay and anything stored long-term.
  • It's repairable. A canvas tarp can be patched and re-proofed rather than binned.
  • We weave it. The yarn, the weave density and the finish are ours to change — not a supplier's to dictate.

Typical Uses

  • Machinery and equipment covers
  • Timber, log and hay covers
  • Construction site protection
  • Cargo and load covers

ConstructionWoven HDPE fabric, laminated both sides with LDPE coating
ReinforcementReinforcement bands with pre-punched holes (agency standard) — or eyelets, if your specification calls for them

We Already Weave This Fabric

  • Family Tent PE — woven HDPE black fibres with white LDPE coating, 175 gsm (±10 g), flame retardant, up to 15% recycled content
  • Blue Tent — woven PE 175 gsm to ICRC / IFRC standard, used for outer, ground sheet and shade cover
  • HUB Tent — woven PE 250 gsm, water, rot & UV proof, flame retardant to CPAI-84

This is the same construction agency plastic sheeting calls for. It is already in production here — not a capability we are claiming on paper.

Send us your agency specificationWe'll quote against the spec and return technical documentation.

Why Buyers Fit One

  • It protects the canvas underneath from UV, sap, bird droppings and the weather that ages a tent fastest — the fly is cheaper to replace than the tent.
  • It cuts condensation by shading the roof.
  • It doubles as a standalone shade or rain cover, pitched on its own.

Honest Note On Fabric

  • Most of the market uses polyester Oxford for flys, because a heavy canvas fly roughly doubles the weight of what it's protecting and dries slowly. We make both — but if you're building a range, polyester is the safer default and canvas the premium option.
Discuss an OEM flyWe already build the bell tents — the fly is the same factory.

Where Canvas Wins

  • Basecamp, not backpacking. Bushcraft and basecamp shelter is pitched once and lived under — weight is not the constraint, and canvas gives you spark resistance near a fire, silence in rain and a shelter that lasts years.
  • It is the one place in camping where our fabric is genuinely the right answer rather than a compromise.

We do not make ultralight silpoly or silnylon tarps. That is a different fabric and a different factory — we would rather tell you that than sell you something we are not best at.

Why This Is A Natural Fit

  • Already in our certified scope. Our ISO 14001 certificate lists "Dropsheet" and "Cover All" alongside tarpaulins and canvas fabric — this is not a new product line for us.
  • It is a cotton weaver's product. A dust sheet is cotton twill, hemmed. The value is in the cloth, which is the part we make.
  • Sold through the trade — decorators' and builders' merchants, wholesalers and DIY brands, under their label.

UK trade calls these dust sheets; US trade calls them drop cloths. Same product.

We coat the PVC ourselves — the base cloth, the coating weight and the lacquer are ours to specify, not bought in on a roll. For one-off fitted curtain-siders a local fitter still makes sense; for volume cover programmes, the factory that makes the fabric wins.

Why Buy From Us

We make the cloth, not just the cover

Most tarpaulin suppliers are converters — they buy rolls and cut them. That's why they can only sell you what the roll came as. We start at the yarn.

We Weave It Ourselves

120 DORNIER looms and our own dyeing and coating lines. The fabric spec is ours to change, which is why "any size, any material" is a real offer and not a slogan.

Truly Made To Order

No standard-sheet constraint. Size, weight, colour, treatment, eyelet type and spacing — all specified by you.

In Our Certified Scope

Our ISO 14001 certificate explicitly covers tarpaulins, dropsheet and cover all — not an adjacent claim.

Relief-Grade Capability

We already weave HDPE with LDPE coating for our relief tents — the exact construction agency plastic sheeting calls for.

Treatments Matched to Climate

Extreme cold and dry climates do not need the same treatments as humid ones. We match the chemistry to where your product will live — better for your cost, and no wasted chemicals.

We Never Quote Under Price

Under-quoting breaks a market and a product, so we do not do it. We quote what it costs to make properly — and stand behind it.

Buyer Questions

Tarpaulin FAQs

The questions trade and agency buyers ask us most often.

Can tarpaulins be made in any size?
Yes. Every tarpaulin we make is cut to your size. Because we weave the fabric ourselves rather than converting bought-in rolls, we are not limited to standard sheet sizes — and we can change the fabric weight, colour and finish as well as the dimensions.
Do you manufacture relief tarpaulins to ICRC, IFRC and IOM standard?
We already manufacture woven HDPE fabric with LDPE coating for our relief tents — the same construction agency plastic sheeting calls for. Reinforcement bands with pre-punched holes, fire retardancy, rot proofing and UV stabilisation are all available. Send us your agency specification and we'll quote against it.
What is the difference between a canvas tarpaulin and a PE or PVC one?
Cotton canvas breathes, which stops condensation forming underneath — that's why it stays the right answer for machinery, timber, hay and anything stored long-term, and for bushcraft shelter. Woven PE and coated fabrics are fully waterproof and lighter, which suits cargo, truck and relief use. We manufacture both, so we have no reason to push you toward one.
What eyelets and edge finishes are available?
Reinforced hems with rust-resistant aluminium eyelets are standard. Brass or galvanised eyelets, eyelet spacing to your specification, webbing reinforcement, rope-in-hem, D-rings, and reinforcement bands with pre-punched holes instead of eyelets are all available.
Do you supply wholesale, trade or OEM?
Yes — trade, wholesale and OEM or private label, including your branding printed on the product and your own packing format. We're a factory, so we don't sell single units to consumers; minimum order quantities apply.
Do you make ultralight camping tarps?
No. Ultralight tarps are silpoly and silnylon — a different fabric that we don't weave. Where we're genuinely the right supplier is heavier canvas tarps for basecamp and bushcraft, where durability matters more than pack weight.
