Most bag suppliers buy canvas and cut it. We weave it, dye it, wax it, cut it and sew it in one factory — so the weight, the colour and the finish are specified by you, not inherited from whatever roll turned up.
Nobody thinks about a canvas bag until it fails — and when it does, it's almost always the cloth or the stitch at the handle. Both are ours: we weave the canvas to the weight the job needs, and we sew the bag in the same building. There's no supplier in between to blame.
The everyday cotton bag — printed, embroidered or plain, in the weight the job actually needs. We hold hundreds of variations of these shapes, because the difference between one and the next is a centimetre on the gusset, a shade of dye or two ounces of cloth. There is no point photographing all of them. Tell us the dimensions, the weight and the branding, and it gets made.
Buyers in the UK and US specify canvas in ounces per square yard; European buyers specify in grams per square metre. They measure the same thing — one ounce is about 34 gsm. We quote in whichever you use.
| 4 oz | ≈ 135 gsm — light and foldable. Giveaway bags, conference and trade-show totes, short-life promotion. |
|---|---|
| 6 oz | ≈ 205 gsm — event and exhibition bags that need to survive being carried home. |
| 8 oz | ≈ 270 gsm — the retail shopper weight. Bookshops, apparel, e-commerce brand totes. |
| 10 oz | ≈ 340 gsm — reusable grocery and market bags. Holds its shape when loaded. |
| 12 oz | ≈ 405 gsm — premium private label and heavy-duty retail. Structured, long-life. |
| Heavier | We weave to 1000 gsm. Anything above 12 oz is available for structured, work-use and speciality bags — ask. |
Choosing the weight is the whole decision. Too light and it fails at the handle; too heavy and you have paid for cloth the bag never needed. Because we make the cloth rather than buy it, we set it to your use — and we will tell you when you are over-specifying.
Where the bag stops being a carrier and starts being a product. Waxed canvas we wax ourselves, leather handles and trims, insulated cooler construction, brass fittings. What follows is a sample of what we have built — not a catalogue, and not a limit. These exist because a client asked for them; yours will exist for the same reason.

Almost every canvas bag supplier is a cut-and-sew shop. They buy the canvas, so the canvas is the one thing they can't change for you. We can.
120 DORNIER looms and our own dyeing plant. The weight, the weave and the shade are specified by you.
The waxed finish goes onto cloth we wove and dyed ourselves — so the base weight and the shade are decisions, not whatever the wax supplier had in stock.
ISO 105 B02 / B04 colour fastness — the reason your bag still looks like your brand after a year of use.
Our own lab checks fabric and finished product against your parameters before dispatch.
Most bag factories start at 500 per design. We start at 50–100 — because that is what lets a brand test a range properly instead of betting everything on one style.
A reusable bag is only credible if it lasts and returns to nature at the end. Real cotton does both — that is the whole point of choosing it over laminated plastic.
